Printfield 10 Trail

We were proud to be part of the Denis Law Legacy Trail at Printfield, working alongside Fine Day Studio, the design studio behind the trail, to help bring three striking new murals to life.

Fine Day Studio had designed the artworks and invited us to support them through the consultation, production, and delivery stages. Our role covered everything from helping with the ordering process, advising on materials and equipment, and consulting on the feasibility of their designs, to assisting with wall preparation and painting on site.

From Consultation to Colour Tests

Early on, we met with Colin from Fine Day Studio, along with designers Maddie and Nina, to go through the practicalities of the project. We discussed the challenges of each wall, including texture, scale, and visibility, and suggested ways to adapt the designs where needed.

We also ran a personal spray painting workshop for the Fine Day Studio team, showing them techniques, pressure control, and colour blending. Together, we tested out their chosen colour palette so they could see how it would work in real life before starting on site.

Three Murals, Three Stories

The project included three unique murals:

  • Abstract Design: Featured as part of the trail to guide visitors around a corner. Bold shapes and vibrant colours brought a sense of movement and direction to the space.
  • Leap to Enormous Heights: Painted above a well-used football goal wall in the heart of the estate. The lettering stood proudly on a granite surface, inspiring young residents to aim high, both on and off the pitch.
  • Holy Trinity Silhouette: A tribute to the iconic Manchester United trio, painted as silhouettes against a rich, coloured background. This design celebrated football heritage and connected the local community to the wider story of the sport.

Over several days at Printfield, we worked side-by-side with Fine Day Studio, enjoying plenty of laughs and great teamwork along the way.

Trust the process…

A Community Celebration

The civic opening was a fantastic moment to see the murals unveiled as part of the wider Denis Law Legacy Trail, which also included a huge 10-storey mural by Blank Walls artist Ketones and local artist Charlie Kelman.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of a project that celebrates community, creativity, and local history. A huge thank you to Colin, Maddie, and Nina from Fine Day Studio for trusting us with the production process on their incredible designs, and to everyone who supported the work behind the scenes.
