Spectra 2026

Scotland’s festival of light returns…

and Outlines Creative were asked to take part!

The team at Live Event Management reached out and asked Kirsty and Naomi to take part in the UV Spraypaint installations for Marischal Square.

The brief was to use UV spraypaint and respond to the festival theme ‘Be Curious’.

Inspired by children’s literature and woodland illustrations, Naomi’s design is a warm, inviting, and layered story, with lots of nooks and crannies to explore among the leaves.

Kirsty has added to our Doric portfolio with her piece, referencing affa curious Doric speakers, writing ‘Speir’ and ‘fit’s at?’ in a playful northern-lights inspired pattern.

Our friends Skeps and Plague Fisher were also commissioned, with Skeps producing a delicate and glowing study of Michelangelo’s Adam in the Sistine Chapel, while Fisher created an apocalyptic photo opportunity with an imagined creature whose wings reach out across the boards.

We were really glad to work with the Live Event Management team who commissioned us and looked after the logistics, as well as Shore Porters who provided the warehouse space to complete the pieces.

If you want to see the final pieces, Spectra is on from 5th to 8th February, and opens at 5.30 each evening.
