Hirdy Girdy: Airhead for Tracing Torry

Inspired by conversations with Brimmond Court residents reminiscing about the games they played as children- skipping with clothes lines, kart racing, fort making, making stilts out of syrup tins…

Airhead got so many lovely responses as she was painting. A dude came up and hugged her as he said it brought back memories he hadn’t thought of in years.

There were lots of honks from passing truck drivers with a thumbs up. A guy across coming out from the shop was yelling about how his sister also played with the syrup can stilts.

Airhead said “This mural is for the people of Torry, not me so I wanted to have it bring them some light 🙂 🩷”

We are thankful to Jordan Harkins and the Port of Aberdeen for letting us paint this wall and include it in the trail.
